DO I NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION?

We do have online reservations for class available, however we always have room for drop in. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to each class (unless otherwise noted).

I’M NOT FLEXIBLE, CAN I STILL DO YOGA?

Most people have either strength or flexibility and genetically lucky people have both. Yoga will help increase both strength, flexibility and relaxation, our studio offers a variety of classes that will focus on one or more of these areas. Each body and each day you may need something different, check our schedule to find a personally tailor-made class.

WHAT IF I CAN’T DO A POSE?

No problem! The instructor will offer different variations of the poses so that everyone can benefit, and each time you come to class you will learn a bit more. Remember, there’s no such thing as being “good” at yoga. It’s a ‘practice’ not a ‘perfect’.

CAN I PRACTICE YOGA IF I’M PREGNANT?

We do offer classes specifically for pregnant women, however if the times don’t work for you there may be some classes that might be suitable for you to take. Make sure to inform your instructor of your pregnancy and any problems or issues. If you have any other questions please give us a call or email to inquire further.

I’M RECOVERING FROM AN INJURY. WILL YOGA HELP?

Yoga is a restorative practice and can often help the body to recover. Be sure to tell your teacher at the start of class about your injury and she/he can be sure that you get the most benefit for your recovery. An injury can be a great learning experience. Make sure to take responsibility for your body and listen when it asks you to take a break or stop.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT WHEN I ARRIVE?

When you first arrive you will enter our retail store with the sign in desk at the back. Our friendly staff will welcome you with a smile and be happy to help you with a purchase, creating an account or even a tour. We offer two change rooms, two private bathrooms, and a free tea station. There are two studio as well as a Wellness Room where you can book a massage, a reflexology appointment or even a private one-on-one class with your favorite instructor.

WHAT IS A ‘NORMAL’ CLASS LIKE?

As a general guideline most classes start with either a breathing technique or a guided thought. Creating a connection between the mind and body is important for purposeful mindful movement to be free of injury.  The body of the class will be specifically designed with the class title in mind and will end will ‘Savasana’ which is 5-10 minutes long of quiet stillness in which you can choose to meditate or just relax.

HOW DO I SET UP AN ACCOUNT?

Setting up an account can be done in two different ways. You can choose to set up your account and sign a waiver either online or in person at the studio. After setting up an account you receive a key tag that will be used to scan in at the front desk to sign into a class or set up your account using your smart phone with the Parallel Yoga App.

WHAT IS THE STUDIO ETIQUETTE?

OPEN MIND. OPEN HEART.

If you must leave early, please tell the instructor prior to the beginning of the class, and leave quietly before everyone gets into savasana, the final relaxation pose.

Please refrain from talking to others once instruction has started.

Be respectful to your body and never move to the point of pain.

Practice with an open mind and open heart.

Please be punctual. Latecomers will not be admitted to class.

Please refrain from strong perfumes/colognes. Some may be allergic to such scents.

Please make sure to turn off your phone or put it on vibrate even in the change room area. Sorry no phones are allowed in class to insure a peaceful and uninterrupted experience. We offer cubbies and hooks for all your belongings and shoes. Please leave valuables at home.

DO I NEED MY OWN YOGA MAT?

If you don’t have a mat there are free complimentary mats to use during class.
